“THE AUCTION” – :30 Ad

EXT. OUTDOOR AUCTION – DAY

Camera shot is behind well-dressed people sitting in white chairs facing a stage for an auction; behind a podium, a man in a tuxedo wrapping a gavel.

AUCTIONEER: “Sold for $500,000 dollars.”

b.g. two men carry a beautiful painting off the stage while two other men bring onto the stage a super ugly sculpture.

Auctioneer looks at the super ugly sculpture and swallows uneasily.

AUCTIONEER: “Now for a challenging piece.”

Auctioneer while looking confused and wiping his brow with a handkerchief continues, “Shall we start the bidding at $1,000 dollars?”

Audience members shake their heads and grumble.

AUCTIONEER: “Anyone?”

Suddenly, Auctioneer starts receiving bids.

AUCTIONEER: “I have a $1,000…I have $1,500…$2,000…$2,500”

Bid amount continues to rise as the auctioneer takes bid after bid.

Camera cuts back to pan across the audience and then panoramic from behind the audience.

Men on both the far right and left of the audience are raising their paddles while the auctioneer continues to take the higher bids

Camera cuts to the side where a beautiful woman in a French-maid uniform is carrying a silver platter of BEER. (The men are waving their paddles to try and get her attention – inadvertently bidding on the item.)

Cut to splash page for BEER

Both men stand on each side of the ugly sculpture with BEER in hand, one shaking his head, the other scratching his face – both looking perplexed.

Then, BEER girl walks by with a tray, stops.

BEER GIRL: “I really thought you had him at $6,000.”

End
